Rodney E. Roberts

Rodney E. Roberts, age 63 of Harrison, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, 2025 at his home. On January 30, 1962, Rodney was born the son of Harold and Keitha (Childs) Roberts in Ionia, MI. In his early childhood years, Rodney moved to Clare County, where he had remained a resident for the rest of his life. He was united in marriage to Tammy Weatherford on December 14, 1991, in Farwell, and they enjoyed over 33 years of marriage together. During his working years, Rodney wore many hats. He served 25-plus years for Farwell Public Schools as both a paraprofessional working closely with the special education department, as well as a bus driver before and after school. He also volunteered and worked with disabled and special need adults in group homes—an activity that not only brought him joy, but also played into his giant, tenderhearted nature. Rodney was also an avid outdoorsman that loved deer hunting and fishing. He would never shy away from a game of euchre, dice, or one of his trademark “cruises in the car”. However, those that knew him best knew that time with his grandchildren is what he looked forward to the most. Rodney is survived by his wife Tammy Roberts and his children William (Nichole) McLachlan, Diana (Tim) Russell, Tiffany (Josh) Brown, Chistopher Roberts, and Elizabeth Roberts. Other survivors include his grandchildren Hayden, Ian, Wyatt, Zoe, Hailey, and Peyton, his sister Anita (Alan) Post, his son-in-law Ray Mulinski, his nephews Chad, Casey, and Cory, and his best friend Donna DeCouteau. He was preceded in death by his daughter Morgan Mulinski, his grandson Skylar Rodriguez-Roberts, his sister Tina Roberts, his grandparents Betty and L.G. Roberts, and parents Harold and Keitha Roberts. A celebration of life service for Rodney will take place at the Brown Corners United Brethren Church of Clare on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 1 P.M. with Pastor Dave Luther officiating.
