Miranda M. Huntoon

Our princess, Miranda Maria Huntoon, age 19 years old, went to heaven on October 13th 2024, at 10:59pm with her family by her side. Miranda was born on May 28th, 2005. to Brad and Erika Huntoon and resided in Maple Rapids MI for a majority of her life. Miranda attended school through the GIRESD at Hillcrest SXI. Although Miranda endured an extensive medical journey, her smile would light up the darkest days. She loved watching movies on her IPad, playing games with her big brothers on the IPad, attending all her brothers’ sporting events, having books read to her, traveling, Huntoon family camping trips, and listening to Justin Bieber (Thanks Aunt Manna) and TuPac (Thanks Grandma Melva) Miranda wasn’t just a survivor, she was a warrior. She spent a large portion of her life in and out of the hospital and showed us just how much fight and determination she had with each medical bump in the road she endured. She was diagnosed at 4 months old with Lissencephaly originating from birth and later diagnosed with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome as her disease progressed. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Sparrow PICU and 5 Foster for all their exceptional care from early on in her life and to Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor MI for the countless hours they spent trying to figure out what illness or illnesses she was experiencing. Sparrow PICU very quickly became our extended family. They showed unwavering love and support through all of Miranda’s admissions, even the therapeutic ones, you all went above and beyond. We can’t thank you enough! Thank you for loving our princess warrior like family. Miranda is survived by her parents, her big brothers Logen (Destinee) Huntoon and Jordan (Trinity) Huntoon, her grandmother Melva Fleming, her aunts and uncles Michelle (Aunt Shitty) and Ryan Fitzpatrick, Christina (Aunt Pissy) and Denny Lambert, Chad and Tami Huntoon, Joshua and April Fleming, Michael Fleming, Amanda (Aunt Manna) Schaub, Jamie Wolfgang Fuentes, Luke and Erica Fuentes, and Carley Fuentes and many cousins and family friends that are more like siblings and aunts and uncles. Miranda is preceded in death by her grandparents William and Geraldine Huntoon, grandfather Edgar “Tito” Fuentes, her dogs Harley Hogg and Bentley B-Dawg and her cat Trouble. Miranda was a true hero and warrior in life and in death. Through organ donation another family with have the blessing of more days with their loved one. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare, MI and burial will be at St Cecilia Catholic Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Clare Moose Lodge.
