Leonard P. Wentworth

Leonard P. Wentworth Sr., age 84, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at the North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell. Leonard was born the son of the late Henry and Josephine (Dora) Wentworth on May 31, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant. He was united in marriage to Bertadean M. Jacob on May 10, 1954, with her predeceasing him on July 13, 1996. Together they had lived in the Farwell area for many years. Leonard was a lifelong member of the Clare Moose Lodge and the Clare Eagles Club. He enjoyed buying and selling and tinkering around with antiques and “quality merchandise”. Leonard had a very strong faith and was a member of the Our Lady of Hope Parish in Clare. He will be remembered by his family as being a very loving and caring father, husband, grandfather and friend, and very family oriented. Leonard is survived by his children Phillip (Sheryl) Wentworth of Clare, Annabell (Brian) Ebright of Clare, Leonard Jr. (Dorothy Brown) Wentworth of Hernando, MS, Calvin Wentworth of Midland, Timothy (Sharon) Wentworth of Birch Run, Terry (Rhonda) Wentworth of Olaton, KY and Bernice (Anthony Duncan) Wentworth of Clare; 30 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren; his siblings Eugene Wentworth of Clare, Thomas Wentworth of Colorado, Frank Wentworth of Arizona, Dorothy Germain of Mt. Pleasant, Agnes Acres of Arizona and Fern White of Farwell. Leonard was predeceased by siblings Howard, Earl, Edward, Clair, Andrew Robert, Mabel McDonald and Sr. Mary Josepha Wentworth; and grandchildren Jordan Wentworth, Melinda Smith and baby boy Wentworth. Visitation and services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Our Lady of Hope Parish. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M. led by Msgr. Francis B. Koper. Burial will follow in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mooseheart. In keeping with Covid 19 precautions limitations to gathering size, social distancing and masks restrictions will be adhered too.
