Janet K. Saraino

Janet Kay (Kleitch) Saraino, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Clare. Janet was born on January 16, 1945, and spent most of her youth growing up in Yale, Michigan. She later moved to Detroit, where she met the love of her life, Benito "Ben" Saraino. The two were married and began raising their family in the area before moving to Weidman, Michigan, in 1984 to enjoy a more relaxed way of life. They moved together to Clare in the late 90’s. Throughout her career, Janet spent many years working in hospital laboratory settings. In the early 1990’s, she followed her heart and opened The Rosary, a religious goods store. She faithfully ran the shop until her retirement in 2018 due to health reasons, after which she devoted herself to caring for Ben during his struggle with dementia. Following Ben's passing in 2022, Janet moved to an apartment in Clare, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her. A deeply faithful woman, Janet was devoted to the Catholic Church, her fellow parishioners, and to helping others. She had a gentle, compassionate spirit and always made time to listen to anyone who needed a listening ear or a comforting conversation. Over the years, she was a dedicated parishioner at several church communities, including St. Joseph the Worker in Beal City, St. Mary’s on the CMU campus, St. Henry’s in Rosebush, and most recently, St. Cecilia Church in Clare. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marge Kleitch; her brother, Pat (Barb) Kleitch; and her beloved husband, Benito. She is survived by her loving children: Regina (Joel) Warner, Michael (Dana) Saraino, and Suzanne (Alex) Franklin. She is also survived by her siblings: John Kleitch, Maggie (John) Sutton, and Mary Walker. Janet’s memory lives on through her eleven grandchildren: Ben Warner, Dominic Saraino, Margaret (Timothy) Taylor, Katie Warner, Samantha Warner, Johnathon Franklin, Thaddeus (Skylar) Warner, Michaela Saraino, Isabella Franklin, Anthony Saraino, and Anna Franklin. She is also survived by her seven cherished great-grandchildren: Emily, Violet, Willow, Phoebe, Jackson, Grayson, and Braydon. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 3 to 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Cecilia Church at 11 A.M. with Monsignor Francis Koper officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery with everyone invited to return to the Church’s Parish Hall for Lunch. Memorial Contributions are suggested to EWTN or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
