In Loving Memory of Duane David Warner, Sr. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Duane David Warner, Sr., who passed away after an incredible fight against cancer, on August 1, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on February 11, 1970, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Duane lived a life defined by love, integrity, hard work, and kindness. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his generous heart and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His strength, sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. As a devoted husband, Duane shared a loving 30 year marriage with Laurie. Together they built a life filled with cherished memories, enduring love, and unwavering support for one another. Their journey together was one of partnership, laughter, perseverance, and unconditional love. His family was always his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in being present for life’s milestones, both big and small. Whether celebrating accomplishments, offering encouragement during difficult times, or simply spending time together, Duane made those around him feel loved and valued. Duane worked as a manager for several companies throughout his career and also pursued numerous successful self-employed ventures including his life’s work as a farmer. His entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and remarkable work ethic inspired everyone who knew him. He believed there was always another opportunity to build something better and was never afraid of hard work. Outside of work, Duane embraced life with enthusiasm. Basketball was one of his greatest passions—whether coaching young athletes, cheering on his favorite teams, or stepping onto the court himself especially with Maddox. He also found joy in hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, fast cars, and restoring or admiring vintage trucks. He loved being outdoors and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. More than anything, Duane treasured his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. His love was constant, his advice sincere, and his support unwavering. The lessons he taught through his actions—his unwavering Faith, working hard, loving deeply, and treating others with kindness and respect—will remain with his family forever. Everyone has a person in their lives that they can call when help is needed…Duane was “that guy.” His friends would say - “I know a guy who can fix that.” He always told people he was “just a farmer” but anyone who knew him would simply dismiss that with a chuckle. He was so much more. He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie (Haynes); his children, Joe (Mariah) Pickard, Makala (Mike) Blye, and Madilynn (Quinten) Vogel; his cherished grandchildren, Maddox, Lexington, Layton, Barrett, Wyatt, and Mabel; his brothers, Ken, Pat, and Ron; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, lifelong friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Warner, Sr.; his mother, Loretta (Hess) Warner; and his beloved son, Duane (DJ) Warner, Jr., whom he carried in his heart every day. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love Duane gave so freely, the memories he created, and the legacy he leaves behind. He taught us the importance of Salvation, family, perseverance, generosity, and living life to the fullest. His laughter will echo in our memories, his wisdom will guide us, and his love will remain with us always. A funeral service will be held on August 6, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Clare Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00am-12:00pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Duane’s remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice and/or Clare County Reach the Forgotten Jail Ministry. Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.
