Donna J. Richmond

It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Donna Jean Richmond (Curtiss), age 59, of Clare, on December 1, 2023. She passed surrounded by family and friends. She was born on November 8, 1964, in Mount Pleasant to J. Richard and Virginia Curtiss. Donna was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and dog mom. She was known for her fun-loving nature, kindness, and social personality. Donna had a big heart and was often the “second mom” to many. She cherished spending time with her loved ones. Her grandkids were her pride and joy. Her dog Missy and her were inseparable. Donna graduated from Farwell High School where she made long lasting friendships. For over 20 years Donna worked at Soaring Eagle Casino. She grew up in Farwell and lived her adult life in Clare. Donna is survived by her daughter, Misti Janderwski (Gary Chippeway) of Clare, and her son, Christopher Janderwski (Adrian Kirkpatrick) of East Lansing. Grandkids Hunter and Austin Smith of Clare. She is also survived by her father, J. Richard Curtiss of Farwell, her brother, J. Richard Jr (Lisa) Curtiss of Kokomo, Indiana, her sister, Roxanne Curtiss of Farwell, her brother, David (Sherry) Curtiss of Manistee, and several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richmond, and her mother, Virginia Curtiss. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Donna's life will be held at Stephenson Wyman Funeral Home, located at 1005 N. McEwan St., Clare, MI 48617. The funeral home will be hosting visitation on December 5, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on December 6, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Burial immediately following at Surrey Township Cemetery in Farwell. Stephenson Wyman Funeral Home in Clare, Michigan, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Their compassionate and professional staff will ensure that all details are handled with care during this difficult time. Donna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Heaven truly gained an angel. In Lieu of flowers her family is asking for donations toward her final expenses.
