David J. Teall

With a heavy heart we share the passing of our beloved brother, David John Teall, age 66, of Clare, he was surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell. David was born the son of Henry and Shirley (Schmanke) Teall on June 22, 1959, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He lived for all of his life in the Clare Area. After graduating from Clare High School in 1977, David began a lifelong career in maintenance for the Clare Public Schools. At that time he also had a dual career at the House of Flavors in Clare where he would work 40 hours per week for both the schools and the House of Flavors. As a youngster he had been involved in FFA and Boy Scouts. He farmed with his family for his entire life and had served as a member of the “Chain Gang” for every football team that played organized football in Clare, from youth through the Rocket program, and all of the high school teams from 1977 through the 2025 season. David was an amazing brother, uncle and friend, with a heart of gold. He was a humbled man, quietly making all our lives easier without saying a word. His kindness and humor was infectious. David was loved by many and will be missed by all. David is survived by his siblings, Sandy Berlin of Seattle, Wa., Ken Teall, Don Teall, Linda Tossey, and Jim (Tammy) Teall, all of Clare, and Cheryl (Tony) Temple of Kingsley, as well his nieces and nephews, Dan (Samara) Berlin, Christopher (Karen) Berlin, Josh (Trish) Tossey, Kristine (Caleb) Methner, Kerry (Jim) Gross, Kelly (JR Barker) Teall, Katie (Kyle) Bauer, Kaylee (Alex) Lerch, Jimmy Teall Jr., Stephanie (Ryan Travis) Temple, Alyssa (DJ) Alcorn, and Justin Temple, plus thirty great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Shirley Teall, and his brother-in-law James Berlin. In keeping with David’s desires, a memorial service is being planned to be held at the Clare United Methodist Church on April 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be directed to: Clare Public Schools, Cross Country and Football programs.
