Mary Ann Barnhart
October 13, 1930 - July 9, 2021
Mary Ann (Slater) Barnhart born October 13, 1930 to Paul and Frances (Williams) Slater, passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family on July 9, 2021. Mary Ann will be deeply missed and forever loved by all those who knew her. Throughout her long life, she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and caring for family and loved ones. She worked for Holley Carburetor and Riverside, before finally transitioning to Clare Hospital where she retired after many years of service. Mary Ann loved life, her Lord and Savior, and above all else she loved her large, continually growing family. Mary Ann married Keith V. Barnhart Sr. on June 25, 1950 and they quickly started building their large family, growing to 7 children by 1964. Keith and Mary Ann loved children, with Mary Ann remembering fondly, how much they enjoyed the sound of small feet and chasing the littlest ones around. Keith and Mary Ann built their family on a foundation of faith, love, kindness, hard work and humility. They were blessed to watch their family continue to grow throughout their nearly 60-year marriage, always prioritizing and organizing large family gatherings. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Frances Slater; husband, Keith V. Barnhart Sr.; daughters, Sharon Farnworth and Frances Hainstock; granddaughter, Derinda Barnhart and sisters, Betty McClain and Vera Jean Lettick. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Karen (Don) Kushmaul, Keith Barnhart Jr., Jerry (Chris) Barnhart, Shari (Greg) Armstead, Mary (Bob) Klenke and special son Jack (Sharon) Hainstock; sister, Shirley (Doyle) Mann; brother-in-law Gene (Marelene) Barnhart; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Before her passing Mary Ann was looking forward to celebrating the August and October marriages of two of her grandchildren and the upcoming birth of her 26th great grandchild. Her legacy of love will live on through all of us. Visitation will be held at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Services will take place on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the New Hope Fellowship Missionary Church in Loomis at 11 A.M. with Pastor Charlie Green officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at the church with burial later in the afternoon at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Church.
