Mark A. Olson

Mark Allen Olson, age 59 years old from Farwell, MI, passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born July 17, 1962 in Saginaw, MI to his wonderful parents Donald and Jessie (Honeywell) Olson. In 1969 Don, Jessie, John and Mark moved to Clare, MI where Mark would meet his lifelong friends, have 2 beautiful children Aaron and Stephanie, and later meet the love of his life Debbie and her son Travis. Mark moved a few times in his life and met some pretty amazing people. His UP family…Eddie (Laurie) Samppala, David Blondeau, Clayton (Pat) Johnson and Karl Butcher held a very special place in “MO’s” heart. For the last 20+ years Mark was the Lead Man Diesel Mechanic at Michigan Cat in Saginaw, MI. In his spare time Mark enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the river at their new home, visiting with family and friends, especially Cliff, Nate and Bill and hanging out with “his precious” Jasey and Jack, his 2 furbabies. He loved to go hunting or just spend time at The Lost 40 and in the summer going for rides on their motorcycle with Debbie. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Debbie; his son Aaron (Elli) Olson; his daughter Stephanie (James) Musil and his bonus son Travis Mester; his brother John (Mickie) Olson; his mother-in-law Jeanne Gum; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Deanna (Keith) Cotton; nieces Jennifer (Matthew), Evelyn, Kimberly (Devin), KayKay (Deric), Aubree and Kaylee Phillipson; his nephew Derrik (Tiffany) and Brantley; his aunt Phil and his cousins whom he loved so very much! Mark is preceded in death by his parents Don and Jessie Olson, father-in-law Larry Gum, his bonus daughter Brittany, and his aunt Fran. In keeping with Mark’s wishes cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Mark’s Life to be determined at a later date. Memorial contributions in honor of Mark may be directed to the Midland Co.
