James "Jim" H. Furman

James (Jim) H. Furman, age 50 of Farwell, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at his home. Jim was born the son of David and Virginia (Shear) Furman on December 8, 1967 in Clare. He was a lifelong resident of Clare County and was one of the best mushroom hunters in the area. Jim loved to spend time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. Besides the outdoors Jim enjoyed bowling at the Gateway Lanes; having recently received both his 300 game ring and his 800 series ring. Jim is survived by his parents, David and Virginia of Farwell; his children Alicia Dent of Corpus Christi, Texas, Malerie Wellington of Traverse City, James R. Furman of Howard City and Kalli Morey of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren Aubrey, Brayden, Jeremiah, Maddison and Tobias; his sisters Connie Bradley of Clare and Crystal (Josh) Walters of Clare and his niece and nephews Jordyn Bradley, his bass tournament fishing buddy Jacob Armentrout, and Colter Walters. And many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jim was predeceased by his brother Chuck, his brother-in-law Ron Bradley, his grandparents, and special Uncle Don Shear. Visitation will take place at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Services will be held at the Clare Church of the Nazarene on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Surrey Twp.
