Garry Lee Wilkinson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Garry Lee Wilkinson, formerly of Farwell, passed away peacefully at home in Midland from complications of Parkinson’s disease on October 2, 2021. Garry was born on November 3, 1948 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Raymond Luther and Lillian Rosella (Green) Wilkinson. He graduated from Farwell High School in 1966 and then worked for the Dow Chemical Company until his retirement in 2000. After retirement he enjoyed many years working for the Eagle Glen Golf Course. Garry married Joyce (Archbold) Wilkinson in 1995 in Midland; together they enjoyed many years of marriage. Garry was lovingly cared for by Joyce throughout his fight with Parkinson’s. In addition to his focus on his family, Garry was an avid deer hunter his entire life. He was very proud of his Canadian Trophy Bucks. Garry often could be found watching softball and baseball, especially the Farwell High School Softball team and the New York Yankees. Additionally, he enjoyed golf, bowling, shuffleboard and his and Joyce’s winters in Florida. Garry is survived by his wife Joyce; his son Lance (Lindsay) Wilkinson of East Lansing; his daughter Kelli (Jon) Maciag of Midland; stepdaughters Julie Buckey of Clare and Jamie (Don) Talley of Midland. Garry was a proud grandpa to Andre, Jayden, Nolan, Harper, Lilla, Ivy, Marian, Grant and great granddaughter Charlie. Also surviving are his three siblings, Don (Louisa) Wilkinson of Lake, Ron (Helene) Wilkinson of Orlando, FL and Lillian Haggart of Farwell. Visitation and services will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 A.M. with services led by Pastor Hal Cole to start at 11 A.M. Burial will take place in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare with a luncheon to follow at the Trinity Baptist Church in Farwell.
