Gail Lee White, age 81, of Clare, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. She was born the daughter of William Charles and Deloris Rose (Tedisco) Strang on Jan. 8, 1940, in Schenectady, New York. Gail married Gerald White on Oct, 6, 1990, and he survives her. Gail had served her community as a County Commissioner in Lapeer from 1976-1984, and had served as the Chairperson of the County Board of Commissioners. She married Jerry while living in Midland and soon after they moved to Clare where Gail had served her community as a member of Rotary International, as a member of both the Clare and Harrison Chambers of Commerce, as a member of several Local Committees including the Clare Irish Committee and the Mid Michigan Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. She also participated as a reading mentor for the Clare Middle School. Gail was passionate about her family and extended family. She enjoyed planning her holiday family “Thanksmas” party. She loved cooking, gardening, reading, and traveling to Caribbean locations and Costa Rica. Gail is survived by her husband, Gerald of Clare, her children, Shawn (Cindy) Potter of Owosso, Kelly (Greg) Lonsberry of Lapeer, Timothy (Daniel Howe) Potter of Lum, Mi., step-children, Julie (Jack) Martin of Pinkney, Jeffery (Julie Byrne) White of Toledo, Oh., and Jason (Jenn) White of Jacksonville, Fla., her siblings, Phyllis Begole of Birmingham, Mi., and William (Lyn) Strang of Sturgis, Michigan. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tiffany and Marcus McKissic, Brandon Potter, Katie McClain-Potter and soon to be baby Potter, Danielle Lemieux-Potter. Travis Potter, Jasha Moreno, Kenzie Lemieux-Potter, Zachary Martin, Kaleigh Martin, Jordan (Bree) White, Aaron White, Nick Byrne, and three Great-grandchildren, Aurora Lemieux-McKissic, Xavier McKissic, and Aria Lemieux-Potter, and the “soon to arrive” Reese. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Andrew Begole, Julie Begole, Jennifer Bunting, Sarah Kuhl, Erin Strand (Jason), and Michelle (Michael) Brenner. Abiding by her wishes, cremation is taking place. Her family plans on holding a Memorial Service in Spring 2022. Memorials may be directed to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Arrangements were by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Homes.
