Dorothy M. Garant Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothy May Garant, age 67 of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her home. Dorothy was born the daughter of the late Arthur T. and Myrtle (Calkins) Eichhorn on April 8, 1953 in Oakland County, Michigan. Dorothy was united in marriage to Jim Garant who predeceased her. She was nearly a lifelong resident of the Clare County Area with having spent some time in Flint. Dorothy had worked in the Security Department at the Soaring Eagle Casino. She was a member of the Farwell V.F.W. Auxiliary; she enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, baking baked goods and spending time with her family. Survivors include her son William (Nicole Coale) Kendrick Jr. of Harrison; her son-in-law Javier (Ruth) Mata of Stanton; siblings Kathy Whitaker, Floyd Eichhorn and Sharon Garcia as well as grandchildren Angelica, Jesus and Elena Mata, William Kendrick III and Madison Williams. Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter Heather Mata, her grandson Alex, and siblings Mary Snear, Butch Eichhorn, Ted Eichhorn and Donna Griffin. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 P.M. with services at 3 P.M. led by Pastor Connie Bongard. Burial will take place at a later date in the Surrey Twp. Cemetery in Farwell.
