Daun A. Groves

Daun A. Groves, age 83, of Flint, (formerly of Clare) passed away on Wednesday, August 19 at American House Senior Living in Flint surrounded by her loving family. She was born the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret (Haney) Brown on October 18, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. Daun was a homemaker for most of her life but had worked for a time as a sewer at Mitchell Corporation. While in Clare, she attended the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She had enjoyed sewing, crafting, and diamond painting. Daun loved the extended family of her daughter’s childcare in Clare, Michigan - where she was the chief cook and baby rocker. Survivors include her children and their families, son, Ralph K. (Anne) Groves and their children, Sarah Elizabeth (Scott) Pieratt with their children Eliza and Grady, Timothy Joseph (Kyle Amanda) Groves and their children Lydia and Vivian, Anna Louise (Shane) McConnell and their children, Maeve, Jack, Stella, and Nora, Martha Mary (Spencer) King and their children, Faelyn, Charlotte, and Owen, her daughter, Cathy (Robert) Willhite and their children, Daun (Anthony) Pensavecchia and children Sophia and Sam, DJ (Jennifer) Groves and children Christopher and Charlotte, and daughter, Her “piece de resistance” Margaret (Jeffrey) Chesney and her children Kayla Walters (David) and her son Max, Megan Walters and her son Shaw, Kenny (Mackenzie) Smith, and Joshua Chesney. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Donald Ray Groves, and great-grandson, Vito Robert Pensavecchia. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, no service is planned.
