Sherrie S. Hendershot

Sherrie Sue Hendershot, age 73 of Lake, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the MyMichigan Medical Center of Clare, surrounded by her loving family. On August 17, 1952, Sherrie was born the daughter of Arthur and Shirley (DesCamps) Fisette, Sr. in Detroit, Michigan. In the Early 80’s, Sherrie moved to Lake from Marine City, MI., and began working as a bartender for the Lake Eagle’s Club. During her ten years tending at the club, Sherrie met her soulmate Earl “Blackie” Hendershot, and the couple were united in marriage on February 29, 1992. Together, they enjoyed twenty-three years until the time of Earl’s passing in 2015. During the largest length of her working years, Sherrie served as part of the security team for the Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino before officially retiring in 2014. Sherrie was young at heart and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, watching her Hallmark Channel movies, diamond painting, Wii bowling, and playing shuffleboard at the Lake Rod and Gun Club where she was a member. However, those that knew Sherrie best will tell you that her most cherished time was that spent with her grandchildren. Sherrie is survived by her daughters Becky (Tony) Sutton and Amy (Tom Schultz) Paradine of Lake, her step-son Gary (Sandy) Hendershot of Lake, and her grandchildren David (Crystal) Sutton, Tyler (Kelsie) Sutton, Jacob (Jordan) Sutton, Trystan Paradine, and Ryan, Taylor, Abby, and Necia Schultz. Other survivors include her great-grandchildren Olivia, Emma, Gavin, Ian, Riley, Cheyenne, Henley, Walker, Ezra, and baby Sutton on the way, her siblings Barbara (David) Eberle, Linda Mueller, Wendy (Mitch) Hause, Doug (Becky) Fisette, Cathy (Dave) Miller, and Kevin (Denise) Fisette, her sister-in-law Tina Fisette, Jr., and many nieces and nephews. Sherrie was preceded in death by her husband Earl Hendershot, her parents Arthur and Shirley Fisette, Sr, her sister Betty Jean Fisette, and her brother Arthur Fisette, Jr. A memorial visitation and celebration of Sherrie’s life will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Farwell Chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Following the visitation a luncheon will be held at the Lake Eagle’s Club from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Memorial contributions in honor of Sherrie may be directed to the Lake Eagle’s Club Memorial Forrest for a tree planting in Sherrie’s honor.
