Sandra Anne Daris

Sandra Anne Daris, also known as Sandee or Dee, age 74 of Clare, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 surrounded by her family. On July 23, 1949, Sandra was born the daughter of Walter and Angaline (Szczek) Zimcosky, Sr. in Royal Oak, MI. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Daniel Daris in Detroit on May 28, 1971, and together they shared thirty-one wonderful years of marriage and three beautiful daughters before Dan’s sudden passing in August of 2002. In 1979, Sandee and Dan moved from Troy to Clare following Dan’s work career, and Clare became home for their remaining years. During her work career, Sandee worked in the accounting department of the Central Michigan Hospital of Clare, then later served as an office manager for Central Michigan University before entering her retirement years. Sandee was known for her polished “gift of gab”. She was a social butterfly that loved her birds, coffee, fishing at the lakehouse, and reading anything she could get her hands on. In her younger years she was a very involved Girl Scout Leader and active supporter of the St. Jude’s bike-a-thons. However, those that knew her best, knew that her greatest passions were that of being a grandmother and fur mom of all animals. Sandee is survived by her three daughters Jennifer (Matt) Kroes, Cindy (Dallas Smedley) Stevens, and Nicole (Ryan) Plunkett. Other survivors include her grandchildren Daniel, Sophia, Murren, and Jack; her best friend Sheila Appelgreen, her comfort angel Tahlia D’Haillecourt, many loved family members, and her three cats Nugget, Earl, and Queenie. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Daris, her parents Walter and Angaline Zimcosky, and her daughter Mary Daris. In keeping with Sandee’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at the St. Cecilia Cemetery of Clare, where she will be laid to rest by her husband Dan and daughter Mary. A celebration of life service for Sandee will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at The Venue in Clare from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.
