Richard "Bubba" Zinser

Richard “Bubba” Zinser, age 82 of Clare, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. On July 26, 1939, Dick was born one of four children to Fred “Dutch” and Ellen (McFarland) Zinser in Isabella County. He was united in marriage to Connie Murphy on March 4, 1963 in Clare, and together the couple enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage. Shortly after Dick graduated from Clare High in 1958, he began what would turn into an impressive fifty-seven year career as a heavy equipment operator with the Operating Engineers Local 324. Upon his retirement from Local 324, Dick kept busy driving for the Clare Auto Auction and transporting local Amish families. Dick was a proud forty-year member of the Clare Moose Lodge, and also served as a Grant Township Trustee for sixteen years. He loved playing cards (especially euchre and cribbage), golfing, camping, and bowling in his younger years. Dick is survived by his wife Connie, his three children Mark (Joni) Zinser of Clare, Patrick “Zeke” (Lori) Zinser of Farwell, and Kristina Zinser of Clare, his grandchildren Josh, Katelyn, Ashtyn, Donnie, and Jordan, and step-grandchildren Jason and Jenna. Other survivors include his great-grandchildren McKenzie, Colton, Gracie, Weston, Winston, and Wayne, his siblings John (Kaki) Zinser, Jim (Margaret) Zinser, and Sue (Dale) Karp, his brothers and sisters-in-law Suzanne Murphy, Michael (Alice) Murphy, Butch (Becky) Murphy, and Mary Murphy, his many nieces and nephews, and his fur babies Bubba and Sassy. He was preceded in death by his parents Dutch and Ellen Zinser, in-laws Harold and Millie Murphy, his brother-in-law Pat Murphy, and his nephews Cody and Michael Zinser. Funeral Services for Dick will take place on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Clare Chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Mr. Jack Taylor officiating. Friends may visit the Zinser family at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. to the time of service at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions in honor of Dick may be directed to MidMichigan Homecare & Hospice.
