Lynette Sue Higgins

Lynette Sue Higgins, known as the beloved “Susie” and resident of Farwell, MI, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the presence of her loving family at the age of 65 at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma. Susie was born the ninth child out of ten children to Wesley and Flora (Eastman) Higgins in Mt. Pleasant, MI, March 19, 1961, and attended and graduated from Clare-Gladwin Day School in 1987. From the moment Susie was born, she brought so much light, joy, love, and laughter into the lives of everyone who knew her. She was known for her love of many things including VHS movies, straws, sticks, tape, stickers, doodling, whistles, food and so much more. Some of her favorite movies and shows were Free Willy, Sound of Music, Barney, Little House on the Prairie, and many other Disney movies. Outside of her favorite things, Susie loved going to church at the Community of Christ in Farwell on Sundays and special needs camp held at the church's campground on Sanford Lake in the summers where she earned the title of yo-yo champion in the talent show every year and always loved driving the pontoon. When it came to family, Susie was the vital heartbeat and dearly cherished family member of her large, extended family. She was the true definition of unconditional love and blessed her family with so many years of special memories. She will forever be imprinted on our hearts. Those left to cherish Susie’s memory are brothers Larry Higgins, Tim Higgins, Rick (Jodi) Higgins, Randy Higgins, and Scott Higgins; sisters Sharyn (Dave) Wiley, Joyce Higgins, and Debra (Bob) Smith; sister-in-law Barb Higgins; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Susie was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ron Higgins; sisters-in-law Nelda Higgins and Connie Higgins; and nieces Tiffany Higgins and Michelle (Wiley) MacDonald. A celebration of life will be announced at a later time. Memorial contributions may be directed to Community of Christ in Farwell, MI, or the Community of Christ Special Needs Camp held at the church's campground in Sanford, MI.
