Jason Bryan Chapman

Jason Bryan Chapman, born November 2, 1971, passed away on Nov. 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Jason leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Brenna, and their children, Holly and Carter Chapman, who were his greatest source of pride and joy. He is survived by his father Ron Chapman and his brother Jon (Jennifer) Chapman, nephew Jacob and niece Abby Chapman. Brother-in-law Sean (Cheryl) Halloran, niece Fiona and nephew Jack Halloran, and cousins, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory. Jason grew up in Dearborn Heights Michigan, and graduated from Divine Child High school in 1990. He double majored in archaeology and art history at the University of Evansville in Indiana, where he met his wife. He traveled Europe twice: once as part of an archaeological dig in Italy and spent a semester in England in college. He started working life at Mesaba Airlines at Detroit metropolitan airport where he worked his way up to supervisor until 9/11 which ultimately shut down the small airline. He took pride in his work ethic shown in his various jobs since through life, most recently as a security guard at MidMichigan hospital in Clare. Jason loved the outdoors, especially hunting and camping, and loved talking about his two hikes across Isle Royale. Jason was also a big history buff and had a great memory for details. He was very politically active too, always keeping up with national and world events. He loved to cook and had hundreds of recipes; he never cooked anything basic. He loved talking one on one with people and a two-hour phone call with a friend was not unusual. As a father he shared his passions for history, art, literature and the world around him and instilled his passion for learning. He showed them museums and read them adventure stories like Robinson Crusoe. He enjoyed attending his son’s baseball games and his daughter’s concerts. He was always full of support and advice for all the big questions. He left this world surrounded by family. A Memorial Service will be held at the Our Lady of Hope Parish in Clare on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10 A.M. A reception will follow the services.
