Geraldine "Gerri" Huntoon

Geraldine Rose (Doherty) Huntoon, a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Aunt passed away suddenly on December 06, 2021, surrounded by her children and welcomed into eternal life by her beloved husband of 55 years. Gerri was born in Clare on May 02, 1946, to Michael and Hazel (Parker) Doherty. There she met her lifelong dancing partner William Lewis Huntoon. They married in 1966, and moved to Ashley in 1972 where they raised their four beautiful children: Michelle (Ryan) Fitzpatrick of Ithaca, Chris (Denny) Lambert of Ashley, Chad (Tami) Huntoon of Middleton, and Brad (Erika) Huntoon of Maple Rapids. She is survived by her children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren: Saterra (Jon), Bret (Emma), Jessica (Jeff), DJ (Leslie), Brooklyn, Megan, Kiley (Ryan), Logen, Jordan, Grace (Gabe), Jake, Kaiden, Miranda, and Saige. 8 great-grandchildren; Matthew, Abel, Tristan, Adalynne, Leighton, Hudson, William, and Baby Lambert in April of 2022. Her brother In-laws, Bill McNerney of Clare and Orie Koch of Munising. Sister in-laws; Terry Huntoon of Clare, Carol (Frank) Handy of Farwell, Bonnie Crawford (Jack Cotter) of Clare, Sinda Lynch of Oil City, Shelia (Mark) Martin of Lexington, KY, and Sue (Amos Brasington) Huntoon of Farwell. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; William Huntoon, parents Michael and Hazel (Parker) Doherty. Her sisters and brothers; Kathleen (Doherty) McNerney, Marylou (Doherty) Shilling, Shirley (Doherty) Adams, Margret (Doherty) Eberhart, June Frances (Doherty) Koch, Dorothy Lee Doherty, Ronald Doherty, and John Joseph Doherty. Her father and mother-in-law, Helen (Delbert) Keller and Leslie Huntoon. Her brother and sister in-laws Kenneth Huntoon, Fredrick Huntoon, Brenda Huntoon, Pat Crawford, and Gary Lynch. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Gerri lived life whole heartedly. She spent most of her time in the kitchen where she loved to bake anything sweet for all her loved ones. Gerri loved to camp with her family. She enjoyed spending her down time shopping. Gerri was the rock of her family. She had the most supportive nature to all she knew and encouraged everyone to embrace life to the fullest. Her impact will forever leave a mark on the hearts of all those whose heart she had touched. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 11:00am Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Clare with Monsignor Francis Koper officiating. Visitation on the day of Mass will be from 10:00am – 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope. The Family of Gerri invite you to join them in paying your respect and sharing your memories of Gerri on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, from 2pm-8pm with family present from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. A Catholic Rosary will be held at 7pm on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
