Franklin C. "Frank" Metz IV

Franklin (Frank) Clyde Metz IV, 34, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 21th, 2024 in Cookeville, TN. Frank was born on December 18, 1989 in Mt. Pleasant, MI. He was the only child of Frank and Kelly Metz. He grew up in Clare, MI and graduated from Clare High School in 2008. Following high school, Frank became a certified EMT and studied to be a paramedic. He worked for Clare County Senior Services delivering food to the elderly. Frank’s heart drove him into more hands-on work where he owned and refurbished rentals in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Frank moved to Cookeville, TN and began a career in Finish Carpentry. His work in the skilled trades was exceptional as Frank had a meticulous nature and attention to detail. Frank enjoyed bicycling, fishing, cooking, gardening, animals, computers and a good meal. He loved visiting his parents in Englewood, Florida where they would ride bikes, hike, swim, fish, and watch movies together. While visiting his parents for Christmas, he was excited to purchase a pedal assist electric bike to help him go further faster in the hills of TN. He will be dearly missed for his kindness and quiet nature, sense of humor, and generosity. Family was important to Frank and he surrounded himself with the love of family, wherever he lived and visited. Frank lived with his cousins Jamie and Whitney Chapman. In Clare he had his loving Aunt Carol and Uncle Dale Majewski of Lake George, MI and grandparents. In Cookeville he had his Uncle Steve and Aunt Kathie Chapman. In Englewood he had his Godfather, Uncle Mark Chapman and Aunt Karen Napolitano as well as many adoring cousins who will cherish his memory always. He is survived by his parents, Frank and Kelly Metz, maternal grandmother, Theresa Chapman and beloved cat, Pip. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents: Ellwin (Jim) Chapman, Frank and Betty Metz, cousin, Michael Majewski and beloved Aunt Linda Romans. Frank’s cremated remains will be in Englewood, FL with his parents until a future date when all three will be interred in the Metz family plot at Cherry Grove Cemetery Clare, MI beside his grandparents and great grandparents. On April 13th at 1:00 a memorial will be held at the Gasparilla Condo Association in Englewood, FL to celebrate his life and memory. This summer a private family and friend celebration of life will be held at his cousin’s home, Niki Napolitano, in Bay City, MI on June 21st at 1:00.
