Frank D Davis

Frank D. Davis, age 77, of Clare, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at North Woods Nursing Center while there for a brief respite stay. He was born the son of Gilbert H. and Althea (Freeland) Davis, on Dec. 13, 1939 in Muskegon. He and his family moved to Moorsetown when he was a young man and his parents operated a Hotel. Frank graduated from Lake City High School. Frank married Micky Ronk on June 16, 1962 and she survives him. He served in and was employed by the Michigan National Guard at Camp Grayling. He later went to work for United Parcel Service as a driver and worked his way up into management. He moved his family to Clare in 1971. Frank was sent to several Western States to open UPS Depots in the West. After retiring from UPS Frank joined with his wife selling Real Estate and investing in and rehabbing and flipping homes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his cabin, traveling, casinos, and round table coffee groups. Frank was a Life member and past Master of the Lake City Masonic Lodge and was a member of and past Patron of the Lake City Order of the Eastern Star #179. Frank was cared for at home with the assistance of his loving daughter Lori and his wonderful care givers, Tracy, Theressa, Amanda, and Pat to which we give many thanks for their loving care. Also to our dear friend Karen Bartholomew who helped us over the last days. Survivors include; his wife, Micky, his children, Bryan (Patricia) Davis of Clare, and Lori (Patrick) Zinser of Farwell, his grandchildren, Lauren Davis, Astlyn Zinser, Tyler Davis, Jordan Zinser, and Bryan Austin Davis, his great-grandchildren, Wayne, Westyn, and Grace, a brother, Gilbert Jr. of Moorsetown, sisters-in-law, June Corner, and Linda Tuttle. Frank was preceded in death by his sisters, Ardyth Morrelli and an infant sister, Sarah Jane, step brothers, Carl and Red, and brothers-in-law, Ron Corner and Kenneth Tuttle Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, at 11:00 AM from the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor John Kasper officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A Masonic Rites service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 PM. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Clare County Senior Services.
