Donald "Don" L. Nevill

Donald L. Nevill, age 69 of Clare, passed away April 4, 2026 in a motor vehicle accident in Knoxville, TN while traveling home from vacation with his wife Penny. Don was born May 22, 1956 in Mt. Pleasant to Wilmer and Leona (Nagy) Nevill. He graduated from Clare High School and took some college classes; he continued to work on the family farm that he dearly loved with his dad and uncle Ron. Through his hard work and high standards of business he bought land to add to Nevill Brother’s dairy farm and grew the farm from a dairy farm into Nevill Farms, an award-winning Angus beef farm. He was recognized last year when his beef was selected to be served at a picnic on the White House lawn. Don was invited and attended the event. The farm continued to grow with the addition of Nevill Supply in 1982. Don was actively working the farm that had grown into a multifaceted business. Don married his best friend and soulmate, Penny Border on August 15, 2022. They enjoyed RV traveling together with recent trips to Alaska and visiting friends in the southern states. He enjoyed flying! He told Penny that he had two mistresses: first being his farm and the second being his plane. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilmer and Leona Nevill and his uncle Ron Nevill. Don is survived by his wife Penny Nevill of Clare; children Jana (AJ) Cook of Blanchard, Andrew (Emily) Nevill of Clare and Megan (Welder) Agualuza of Grand Rapids; his stepchildren Kati (Rance) Hopkinson of Farwell and Jonathan (Emily) Zeneberg of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Grant, Ellary, Addley, Barric, Sebastian, Nico and Stella; step grandchildren AnnMarie, Christopher, Beau, Jay and Zane; cousins and friends. Don was very active and well loved in the community. A sampling of just a few things that he was involved in is: Cattlemen’s Association, Clare Area Pilots Association, NRA, Elks, Legion and Eagles. Don had a wealth of information that he loved to share with everyone. He loved his wife and soulmate, his kids and grandkids so much. He loved to fly and spend time working on his plane. He was a kind, generous, intelligent man with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by his family and many friends and customers. AND THAT!!! A Celebration of Life will be held at the farm with a pig roast, Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 2 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Clare County 4-H.
