Dennis "Denny" Jewell

Dennis Dean Jewell, lover of high school football, the Food Network, Reuben sandwiches, and all things Disco, has passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. During his 74 years on earth, Dennis produced three children and had two stepchildren. It was these children who blessed him with 8 grandkids who became his whole world! His favorite activities with his grandkids would include watching them at their activities and sports, teaching them how to fish, taking them on tractor rides, bribing them to pick up his yard paying 5 cents a twig, teaching them how to permanently eliminate chipmunks, and millions upon millions of laughs, giggles, and hugs too numerous to measure! Dennis was most proud to be a US Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War for 366 days. His favorite article of clothing to wear daily was a Vietnam Veteran hat, hoping others who served in the war would see it and introduce themselves, where both could have the opportunity to shake hands and say “Thank You” to one another. Much to Dennis’ joy, this happened often, and he always hoped other veterans would keep this exercise going strong after his passing. As per standard announcement requirements, and much to Dennis’ chagrin (who did not like to gloat), the following is a list of his family of whom he was so proud: Daughter Tracy Lubs (Scott), son Kyle Jewell (Janey), and daughter Erin Tecker (John). Stepdaughter Renae Lapid (Bryan) and stepson Aaron Eschenburg. Grandchildren: Kylie, Brennah, Sophie, Leah, Caleb, Attie, Bryce, and Jordyn. As a young man he was an avid and award-winning dancer. Dennis was enjoying music and bopping his head through his final days. He danced his way into heaven to reunite with his parents, Lyle and June Jewell, and his brother Robert Jewell, who have preceded him in death. A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Clare United Methodist Church, 105 E 7th St, Clare, MI. A Visitation will be held at noon, with a celebration service immediately following at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Vietnam Veterans of America or Pioneer Golden Estates in Clare, MI
