David H. Kole

David H. Kole, age 68 of Clare, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. On January 18, 1958, Dave was born one of seven children to Ted and Marion (Tanasychuk) Kole in Detroit, MI, and between Rosebush, Loomis, and Clare, he remained a lifelong resident of Central Michigan. In the 70’s, Dave began his faithful 45-plus year career in pipelining with Local 798—retiring as a Chief Pipeline Inspector in 2020. During his time traveling for work, Dave met his soulmate, Elizabeth Hubbard. On December 30, 2010, Dave and Beth were married in Rosebush and have enjoyed every day alongside one another since. Dave was a true gearhead. He enjoyed restoring and selling anything with a motor from lawn mowers and boats to classic cars—even owning a model-A Ford for a time. When he wasn’t working or tinkering, Dave also enjoyed vacationing with Beth and his family to the beaches of Florida, cooking (especially his traditional pierogis), watching nascar races, and rooting on the Lions and Wolverines. Throughout his life, Dave remained rooted in his Christian faith, and his uplifting sense of humor and smile will remain both cherished and deeply missed. Dave is survived by his wife Beth of Clare, daughters Elaine (Andy) Meister of Clare and Mandi (Brad) Ritter of Gaylord, sons William Hubbard of Clare, Jonathan Clarkson of Clare, and Christopher Clarkson of Ohio, and his cherished grandchildren Kurt, Poppy, and Bradley Meister, Kyra and Kielee Hubbard, and Kelsie Clarkson. Other survivors include his siblings Larry (Cindy) Kole, Don (Keri) Kole, Nick (Jose) Kole, and Randy Harless, his many cherished nieces and nephews, and his spoiled fur-babies Missy, and BooBoo. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Marion Kole and his siblings Rudy Kole, Jerry Kole, and Debra June Harless and his fur babies Little Bit and Cottontail. In keeping with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dave’s life will take place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at the Clare Moose Lodge from 3:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. A private graveside committal will be held at the St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery of Rosebush, where Dave will rest alongside his family.
