Carema "Carrie" Mary Kime

Our world is a little dimmer today but we celebrate the life of one phenomenal lady. Carema Kime, age 79, of Clare, died this morning Friday, April 22, 2016 in the presence of her beloved husband Marvin, and sister Rose. Carema, or Carrie as she liked to be called, was born in Detroit in 1936. She grew up with 1 brother and 5 sisters. As a youngster, she enjoyed playing baseball and jumping off bridges into canals to keep cool in the summers. She met Marvin in her early twenties where they shared the love of dance. They were amazing ballroom dancers. She married Marvin in 1960 and they had four children. They moved to Clare in 1976. She quickly got involved with BPW, Chamber of Commerce, golf, bowling and card clubs. Carrie loved her kids and grandkids. The first mark of growing up for all of them was "being taller than grandma". She also became known as “Gramma Bubbles” after being given that name by Grandson Zach. She loved playing games and cards with each of them. In addition to being a great wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Carrie enjoyed her time in the workplace, working as a keypunch operator and teacher in the early days of computers. She also worked with Marv at the Comfort Center Sleep Shop in both Clare and Mt Pleasant which they owned for many years. Carrie's Catholic faith was very important to her. Her faith gave her strength, hope, and supported her generosity and huge heart. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents George and Rose Raleeh, brother John Raleeh, sister Ann Milton, son-in-law Robert Browne and brother-in-law Kenneth Kirbach. She is survived by: her husband Marv, children: Glenn Kime and Laura Bauman, Donna Browne, Kris Ruckle and Paul Mahon, Diane Lynch and Brad Lynch; grandchildren: Zachary, Alexander, Brittney, Jordan, Skyler, Sierra, Elena and four granddogs; brother-in-law George Milton; sisters and brother in laws: Georgianna Kirbach, Theresa and Bennie Evola, Victoria and Ron Laux, and Rose and Joe Pizzo and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, April 28, at Our Lady of Hope Parish - St. Cecilia Site with Father Prentice Tipton, Jr. officiating. Visitation from 10-11 A.M with the Mass Service at 11 A.M.. Burial will be in the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery with a funeral luncheon to follow.
