Calvin Kenneth Jackson

Calvin Kenneth Jackson age 68, of Clare passed away at home on Sunday, September 4, 2016 with family at his bedside. Cal was born on October 5, 1947 to John Jackson and Thelma (Garver) Jackson. Beginning in 1965 he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Radio Operator until 1967 when he was honorably discharged. Cal married Janett on January 25, 1969 and together, they raised three children; Richard and twins, Rhonda and Renay. Cal worked for Michigan Bell/AT&T from 1968 until he retired in 1999. Throughout retirement Cal kept himself busy along with family operating "Jackson Brother's Trucking", an excavating company. Cal was an active member of the Clare Moose Lodge and Eagles Club of Mason. He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Cal is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janett, his son, Richard (Tonia) Jackson of New Haven, Kentucky, his twin daughters, Rhonda (Rob) King of Niles, Michigan and Renay (former son-in-law, Scott) Ehren of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Grandchildren; Joshua (Erin) Jackson of Radcliff, Kentucky, twins; Gabrielle and Shelby Jackson of New Haven, Kentucky, Courtney Ehren of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Christopher and Shawn King of Niles, Michigan, his father, John O. Jackson of Clare, brothers; Neil (Deb) Jackson of Oil City, Michigan, Johnny (Teresa) Jackson of Harrison, Michigan, Larry (Jean) Jackson of Clare, Michigan and brother in-law, Jay Davis of Farwell, Michigan, sister in law, Renay (Gary) Nelson of Gowen, Michigan and brother in law, Roy (Vicki) Brown of Edwardsburg, Missouri, a very dear aunt, Tillie Marshall of Rosebush, Michigan, numerous, cherished cousins, nephews, nieces and many close friends. Cal was predeceased by his mother, Thelma Jackson of Clare and sister, Carol Davis of Farwell, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 11:00am at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Larry Wyman, Sr. Officiating. Military honors will take place immediately after the service. Friends may meet with Cal's family on Tuesday September 6, 2016 between 4pm and 8pm at the funeral home.
