Annabelle Virginia Brown

Annabelle (Virginia) Brown, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 20, 2015 in Ann Arbor. Annabelle was born the daughter of Stanley and Florence (Hilborn) on June 1, 1927 in Clare. She was united in marriage to Milton J. Brown on May 24, 1947 with him predeceasing her on June 8, 2013. Together, along with her brother-in-law Chester, they ran the family farm in Mt. Pleasant until retiring to the family home on Eight Point Lake near Farwell. In 2013 she moved to Brookdale Place in Ann Arbor where she lived close by her daughter and son in law. Annabelle was a terrific wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. In addition she was active in organizations that positively shaped the lives of others. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant for over 65 years, serving as Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Elder, member of women’s circle and multiple initiatives of the church. She served as a 4-H leader for many years. She was an active real estate agent for more than 30 years both in Mt. Pleasant and Clare county. Annabelle is survived by her daughter Janice (Alan Priest) Brown of Ann Arbor; daughter-in-laws Natalie Kik-Brown of Conklin and Rose Tilmann of Rives Junction; her brothers Ron (Darlene) Schunk and Mark (Ruth) Schunk both of Clare; a sister Darylene (Ed) Pennington of Louisiana, Missouri; three grandchildren Andrea, Ryan and James, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Her sons Kevin and Jim and granddaughter Katherine, all very dear to her, predeceased her. Visitation and services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of services led by Pastor Andrew Miller at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare followed b y a lunch at the Doherty Hotel. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mt.
